Training Therapy Dogs for all settings.
A Work of Heart Therapy Dog Training was conceived in 2017 with Murphy, our original Therapy Dog who worked in local schools, nursing homes, libraries, and emergency centers. Since that time, Lily and Charlotte both received certification as Therapy Dogs. We will come to your setting to help you train and certify your dog and develop the necessary policies for your workplace to create and run your own successful Therapy Dog Program.
We will assist you in creating a successful environment for you, your therapy dog, and your students/clients.
We have seventeen years of experience creating successful Therapy Dog Programs:
Our trainer will travel to your setting to assess your dog’s temperament to determine if they are a candidate for the Therapy Dog Program.
Your dog will train with you for 8 weeks and will become CGC and Therapy Certified while ‘working’ one day per week in your setting.
Our trainer will observe your dog in the setting to measure their progress interacting with students/clients and attainment of training components over 8 weeks of time.
