    AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy

AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy is an exciting program designed to get dog owners and their puppies off to a good start. AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy is an excellent first in-person training class for puppies. AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy provides a good lead-in to earning the Canine Good Citizen title. Organized training classes teach you how to best communicate with your puppy and provide an opportunity for your dog to socialize with other dogs. In classes aimed at earning the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy distinction, you will receive information regarding all your puppy-raising questions like house training, chewing, and the most effective way to teach practical skills such as coming when called. AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy training is a natural lead into the AKC® Canine Good Citizen® Program. The class is six thirty-minute sessions. You and your puppy will take the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy test at the end of the course. Upon passing the test, you will receive an application to send to AKC® for enrollment in the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Program. All dogs, purebreds, and mixed breeds, under one year of age are welcome to participate in the program.

      Basic Obedience Class

The Basic Obedience Class is an extension of the S.T.A.R. Puppy class. Classes are open to all dogs, purebred and mixed breeds. Understanding of basic commands is deepened during this class for dogs that have completed their S.T.A.R. Puppy or are older than one year. You will enhance your communication skills with your dog and have an opportunity for your dog to socialize with other dogs. This class is eight one-hour sessions. There is no specific test at the end of this class. Basic obedience training is a natural lead into the AKC® Canine Good Citizen® Program.

        AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC)

AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) is open to all dogs, purebred and mixed breeds. There are no age minimums or limits for participating in the Canine Good Citizen program, because yes, you can always teach an old dog new tricks! Nonetheless, training a puppy can be very different than training an adult dog. All dogs can be good dogs, and all owners can be great owners, all it takes is a little bit of training, lots of love, and of course, plenty of praise along the way. The Canine Good Citizen® (CGC) program is an expert-made training program designed to help you and your dog be the best you can be–together. Canine Good Citizen is a 10-skill test that teaches good manners to dogs and responsible dog ownership to their owners.

          Therapy Dog Training

Therapy Dog Training is open to all dogs, purebred and mixed breeds. Therapy dogs must have attained adulthood, with many organizations not allowing puppies under one year-old to serve as working therapy dogs. Additionally, many organizations require dogs to pass the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test for obedience, although others require Canine Good Citizen certification in addition to a therapy-specific test. The Therapy Dog class is eight sixty-minute sessions. The first six sessions will cover the elements of Canine Good Citizen, culminating in the CGC Test. The final two weeks will focus on additional concepts, culminating in the final Therapy Dog Test administered by RocDog Evaluators.

Thank you so much for helping me make this happen.  She is doing great and the kids and staff love her.  You would never know she is in a room unless you saw her.  Quiet, calm, relaxed.

            I can't thank you enough.
